Vote YES To Retain ALL Our Judges
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is under attack and we are fighting back. VOTE YES TO KEEP OUR JUDGES
In 2015, we flipped the PA Supreme Court by electing Justices Kevin Daugherty, Christine Donohue, and David Wecht.
In Pennsylvania, judges serve for a 10-year term after which they are on the ballot for a "retention". election.
This November, Supreme Court Justices Wecht, Daugherty and Donhue will be back on the ballot along with Superior Court Judge Alice Beck Dubow and Commonwealth Court Judge Michael Wojcik and seven Allegheny Count Common Pleas Court Judges. Voters will be asked a simple question: Do you want to keep this judge for another 10 year term ? Yes or No.
Normally, retention races are sleepy affairs but this year, Republicans and their billionaire donors have vowed to target our Supreme Court. If they are successful, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court will be in a 2-2 deadlock.
The Supreme Court shapes state law with real impact on our lives. In recent opinions and decisions, the Justices have affirmed:
- That the (previous) PA Congressional map deprived voters’ of their right to “free and equal” elections as protected by the PA Constitution.
- That voters can use a provisional ballot if their mail-in ballot was rejected for missing a secrecy envelope
- That reproductive decisions should be made between a woman and her doctor.
- That LGBTQ+ rights deserve constitutional protections
- That the Fifth Amendment protects people from being forced to hand over their digital passwords
- VOTE YES TO KEEP OUR JUDGES
All judge retention races are on the back side of the ballot, and we want to vote YES on all of them.
Vote "YES" for our Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judges seeking retention.
